Gangnam Style
Have you seen
it? Can you do it? What am I talking about? I’m talking about Gangnam Style. It’s daft, fun, and it’s caught
people’s attention around the world. The song, sung by the Korean pop artist
PSY, has become an international hit. More importantly, the dance that goes
with it, has caught on – big time!
Since Gangnam Style was released in July the video for
the hit has been watched more than 700 million times – on YouTube alone and
this figure is rising fast. It has more than five million ‘likes’ on the
channel and is officially the most ‘liked’ on YouTube. The question is – can
you dance Gangnam
Style? You can’t? I
think you’d better watch the video! The song has gone to No 1 in 28 countries.
Right now PSY
is the biggest pop star on the planet. The 34-year-old Korean singer is
credited with getting the world dancing. PSY – short for Psycho – real name
Park Jaesang – invented Gangnam Style to mock the pretensions of Seoul’s
wealthy citizens who falsely associate themselves with the fashions and styles
of the sprauncy Gangnam district of Seoul. The area is described by some as a
kind of Korean Beverly Hills. Whatever! The song has put it on the map.
Since the
song’s release, and its huge worldwide success, the ‘King of Korean Pop’ has
been inundated with requests to meet the world’s top leaders and pop artists.
These include Barack Obama, David Cameron and UN leader Ban Ki-moon, who is
also Korean. All have learned the moves of this crazy dance! PSY has also
taught Madonna and Britney Spears how to Gangnam Style! We have seen flash
mobs; in one case 30,000 dancing Gangnam Style! The whole thing has become a
sort of cult.
Of course,
mastering the dance is something to achieve. It is a sort of wide legged strut,
as if sitting on a horse, hands crossed at the wrists as though gripping the
reins followed by a whipping gesture. The absurd dance is totally ridiculous
but it’s funny. I’ll leave you to practice it in your English lesson! It’ll
certainly liven the lesson up – Gangnam Style!

Education
Education in
its general sense is a form of learning in
which knowledge, skills, and habits of
a group of people are transferred from one generation to the next through
teaching, training, research, or simply through auto didacticism. Generally,
it occurs through any experience that
has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts.
Education,
in general terms, may be explained as the process of acquiring data and
knowledge, along with learning various forms of behavior and competency in a
specific field.
The
purpose of education is to form human minds with values and principles
that help to distinguish between wrong and right. The purpose of education
though has a much broader aspect which also brings learning skill for a certain
area along with achieving overall development. While life passes education
never ends, so education purpose entails a continuous change in direction.
We
often ask what the purpose of education is but hardly think why it is so
important for each personally and within the whole community and civilization.
While we grow up and become more mature we begin to realize what education
purpose is in reality. We start to understand its importance only when we meet
difficulties in our personal and professional development. As mentioned above
education represents the process of gathering knowledge, but knowledge has no
end so does education and one can never affirm that he or she knows everything.
In
its basics education purpose is to teach a person how to write, read and
understand that transforms him or her into a literate person. The abilities
thought in primary school remain for the whole life, improving all the time the
more we read and think. In this sense education purpose is to teach an
individual to acquire social and professional skills that help him to interact
with the society and maintain social relations. The purpose of education is to
give people the tools to survive and to struggle within the society. In school,
college and other educational institutions individual is a part of a whole, of
the group, the same or different aged people so deriving from this point the
purpose of education comes to be learning to compete with others and be the
best as well as in real life, meaning at work, in business and even in
relationships.
Education
purpose from philosophical point of view is to teach us how to think and
analyze the world around but not to tell us what to think and what to do. It
aims at creating the necessary understanding for what is good and bad
individually. To develop creative thinking and imagination represents the
purpose of education. Eric Hofer, a well known American writer, supposes that
the purpose of education is to cultivate the will and offer the tool to learn.
In his opinion the purpose of education is to create individuals that are able
to learn by themselves but not already learned ones because nobody is able to
know everything.
From
professional view the purpose of education is to help a person to gain his
goals and career objectives that as a result will create conditions for
economic growth and overall welfare. Knowledge builds humans with lots of
resources out of illiterate individuals. The purpose of education is to offer
personal and career fulfillment, so humans will tend to transmit knowledge from
generation to generation into eternal improvement. Thus the purpose of
education is to spread education within the existing civilization and to the
oncoming ones.
The
purpose of education is to create a healthy and well developed society,
where the center is the educated and resourceful individual, to educate all
students and give everyone equal opportunity as a means to succeed in life.
Through knowledge and skill, all individuals can achieve greatness. In
addition, common values such as punctuality, following rules, cooperation,
learning to work and get along together as well as a sense of responsibility
are all-important factors of education. The combinations of knowledge and
skills as well as the common values will help our young students bloom into
adults and become responsible and productive citizens.

hedonism?? are you??
HEDONISME
3. Pengaruh
tontonan
Pengaruh
tontonan, tayangan televisi (profil sinetron, liputan tokoh selebriti dan
iklan) juga mengundang mahasiswa untuk mengejar hedonisme. Majalah remaja
popular dan kebanyakan tema televisi sama saja. Isinya banyak mengupas tema
tema berpacaran, ciuman, pelukan, perceraian, pernikahan.hamil di luar nikah
dan bermesraan di muka publik.
Gejala
hedonisme ?
Rasa
kemampuan kita, sehingga berujung menghalalkan segala cara.
8. Menyeimbangkan
kebahagiaan. Ibarat minum air garam, makin diminum makin haus.Bagi yang belum
terlanjur menjadi pengidola hedonisme maka segeralah berbalik arah, berubah
seratus delapan puluh derajat.
karakter selfish (mementingkan diri
sendiri), dan miliki multi kekuatan – kuat otak, kuat otot, kuat kemampuan
berkomunikasi, kuat beribadah, dan kuat mencari rezeki.
